The Integration Point:
(was it a traffic stream or a transaction stream? describe it briefly)
A "pardigm stream": letting human beings mimic natural-world approaches: diversity instead of monoculture, cooperation instead of competition, mimicing innovations by different species (or market segments)
The UMV:
(describe it briefly) Innovation is invention plus a market--and can cross disciplines. the more complex a system, the more innovation AND the higher resistance to meltdown
Why:
(tell us why you think it's exceptionally interesting - keep it to one short paragraph please)
Although Joel Barker, who presented this material in the most important speech I've heard in years, is not a marketer--I found within his research a framework that explains so much: why JVs are successful, why the dotcom boom fell apart, how we can harness processes "stolen" from the natural world to move forward in quantum leaps--and why innovation tends to happen and the borders between ecosystems--or industries--so you can, for example, harness inkjet technology both to distribute topical medicines and to create low-cost extruded concrete housing.
